Self-Hosting

Your home server, without the DevOps.

Run OpenShore on a computer you own, and reach it from your phone over your own private network.

The pieces

The engine is the OpenShore daemon. It owns your sessions and does the generating on your computer. Your phone attaches and detaches freely, more remote control than compute.

Phone, desktop, and an optional second computer, linked over your own Tailscale network. A cloud model answers only when you pick it. PRIVATE NETWORK · TAILSCALE Phone remote control Desktop engine sessions live here optional second computer when you pick it Cloud on your key Binds only to loopback or the tailnet, never 0.0.0.0. No public URL.
Your private network. The engine runs on a machine you own. Your phone is a remote control, with its own key you can revoke.

Set it up

There is no one-click installer yet, and no DevOps degree either. It is a handful of steps, each a copy-paste command.

  1. Pick a runtime Install Ollama and let the desktop app pull DeepBlue, or run any OpenAI-compatible runtime and point OpenShore at it.
  2. Join a network Install Tailscale on both devices, sign into the same account, turn it on.
  3. Keep it awake A sleeping machine kills in-flight runs. Run osc doctor and it prints the one-line fix.
  4. Start the engine Run osc serve --bind tailscale, or just open the desktop app, which runs the same daemon.
  5. Connect your computer On the computer, open Pairing. On the phone, choose Connect your computer and scan the QR, then allow the phone on the computer. Each phone gets its own key, which you can revoke.

Models on your terms

Place a local model, connect one you host, or reach a cloud model on your own key. They all show up in Stack and route the same way.

For a team, later

This release is for one person: your computer and your own phone. Sharing a computer with a team, with roles and shared projects, comes in a later release.

Free and open source. OpenShore runs on your machine, so when it sleeps or powers off, in-flight runs stop. No OpenShore cloud runner takes over yet.
